The Corona Virus (Con't)
You have probably heard that 50-60 thousand people die of the flu every year. But this isn't really true, and again the statistics are being messed with. Here's the real breakdown: In 2017, the CDC recorded 55,672 deaths from influenza and pneumonia. Then the CDC breaks it down further to show 6516 died from influenza and 49,175 died from pneumonia, but the media usually only gives you the first combined stat to scare you into getting a flu shot each year. As you can see, the real stat isn't all that scary. They are now trying to fast track a vaccine for the coronavirus, but please beware of a barely tested, vaccine based on possibly faulty data.
I've been asked whether or not we should get a flu shot now if we haven't gotten one yet. My answer is no and for two reasons: 1) each year the flu shot is tailored to what they think the flu variant will be and, of course, this year there is no coronavirus factored into the 2019-2020 flu shot. So it would be useless and 2) It would reduce your immunity to be shot up with unnecessary strong chemicals. There are studies showing that those who get (got) the flu shot are MORE susceptible to similar non-flu-like viruses including, yes, the coronavirus.
That said, here is some good precautionary information from a professor of pathology at UC San Diego - Dr. James Robb, M.D. - who was one of the first molecular virologists in the world to work on the coronavirus in the 1970's.
This virus is spread in large droplets by coughing and sneezing. This means that the air will not infect you, BUT all the surfaces where the droplets have landed are infectious for about a week on average. The virus is on surfaces and you will not be infected unless your unprotected face is directly coughed or sneezed upon as the coronavirus only has cell receptors for lung cells ie. it only infects your lungs and is a respiratory flu.
Dr. Robb goes on to say that zinc lozenges have been proven to be effective in blocking the coronavirus (and most other viruses) from multiplying in your throat and nasopharynx. If you feel ANY cold-like symptoms beginning, suck on the zinc lozenges several times a day. It is best to lie down and let the lozenge dissolve in the back of your throat and nasopharynx. I will be ordering many bottles of Perque's zinc lozenges today and should have them on my shelves by the weekend.
What am I doing? Most of all the above plus I am taking a few Congaplex for immunity and prevention every day. I don't know whether it's a good thing to do, but it makes me feel more proactive. I also purchased elderberries from Amazon and made a couple quarts of elderberry syrup, a great anti-viral. I take a shot glass every day. I will also continue taking a daily dose of what I call my immune tonic, which is echinacea, gingko and licorice. I also don't eat sugar or eat crappy food, which helps with immunity. Oh, and extra C is not a bad idea either.
